Blackhawks 3, Canadiens 1
- Updated: October 10, 2017
The Blackhawks, playing their fourth game in six nights and coming off a tough overtime matchup with Toronto a night ago, faced arguably the best goaltender in the world today and got the better of him. The Canadiens outplayed the Hawks for the majority of the first before Alex DeBrincat netted his first career NHL goal. Nineteen seconds later, the Hawks had the lead after Brandon Saad tapped in a goal after some pretty passing by he and his linemates, Jonathan Toews and Richard Panik. The Hawks controlled the action in the second and expanded their lead to two on an Artem Anisimov power play goal. The Habs got the better of the action in the third, but Corey Crawford stood tall in his hometown to preserve the lead and get the Hawks 2 points.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 A)
★★ Alex DeBrincat, W, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (41 SV, 1 GA)
