Wild 3, Blackhawks 2
- Updated: January 16, 2017

Patrick Kane showed up, scoring the first two goals of the game, one in each of the first two periods. The rest of the team was meh to bad. The Hawks ceded the next three goals, thanks in part to an awful game from Corey Crawford. Needless to say this was not the rebound game the team needed after the crapfest in Washington.
A few things
- Nick Schmaltz got called up from Rockford, which is nice to see, because if this team’s going to go anywhere, they’re going to need some young guys to step up. Once again, they’re largely a one-line team. This is why I was really hoping to see Tyler Motte get a real shot at playing in the top 6, because if he’s ready, his game is a great match for Kaner’s, and thus, you could move Artemi Panarin up to 1LW, a spot that’s been without a steady occupant since the Brandon Saad trade.
- I have no idea why Crawford was even in net tonight after the outing he turned in against the Capitals, but again, I have to say I’d like to see more of Scott Darling.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Nino Niederreiter, RW, MIN (1 G)
★★ Jason Pominville, RW, MIN (1 G (GWG))
★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (2 G)
