Jake Rudock Will Transfer to Michigan
- Updated: April 1, 2015
Former Iowa quarterback Jake Rudock will transfer to Michigan for the upcoming season. Rudock will be a grad student, and therefore, eligible to play right away. Last year for the Hawkeyes, Rudock completed 61.7% of his passes and threw for 2,436 yards, 16 TDs, and 5 INTs.
With a lot of questions about the QB position and nobody currently separating himself from the pack, Rudock is a nice pick-up for the Maize and Blue. While Rudock wasn’t a Heisman candidate last year, he is a competent, experienced QB, so instead of the starting QB for Michigan just being whoever ends up looking like the best of the bunch, regardless of how good they actually look, the starter now becomes a competent, experienced QB, or someone who beat out a competent, experienced QB for the job. The best-case scenario here is Rudock flourishing after getting out of Kirk Ferentz and Greg Davis’ uninspired offense and into Jim Harbaugh, Tim Drevno, and Jedd Fisch’s system.
