Michigan 35, Oregon State 7 – Rapid Reaction
- Updated: September 13, 2015
Michigan struggled early against Oregon State’s option offense, then made the necessary adjustments and dominated. Oregon State had 136 yards of offense in the first quarter. They finished the game with 138 yards. The defensive line got pressure just about all day; Chris Wormley was constantly in Oregon State’s backfield.
The offensive line was significantly better than they were against Utah. There were a couple pass protection issues, but the run blocking was miles better. The line got good push all game, and opened plenty of holes for the running backs. De’Veon Smith was excellent; he ran to the right spots and fought for extra yards. Derrick Green also looked pretty good when he saw the field.
Jake Rudock managed the game well and didn’t make any huge mistakes. There was one interception that was a bad throw on his part, but other than that, he was fine. Not great, but fine. A full recap will go up early in the week.
