Holy shit, how’d this dude fly under the radar. You’d have to be a huge mid-major fan to appreciate Keifer Sykes. Credited with AP All-American honorable mention in the 2013-14 campaign, the team he leads, Wisconsin- Green Bay, stole a win against a great Virginia team last year. The Chicago, IL product posted a double-double that game with an impressive 21 points and 10 assists. This season, Sykes and Co. got another win over a disappointing #15 Miami team on the road, where Keifer put up 18 points in arguably the biggest win in program history. Keifer also had a near miss of a highlight when he came close to dunking on in state rival Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky, a 6’11 Center (7’0 depending on who you ask) which definitely would have been dunk of the year, at any level (say thanks, Jerian Grant.)
A highflyer out of Chi-city and currently a top 20 scorer in the nation (finished tied for 21st last year, at 20.3 a night,) Sykes will probably sneak onto somebodies roster as a 2nd round pick because of his size, but he is sure fun to watch. I wish nothing but the best for the kid.
