Needs work

  • Pass pro technique

Honigford’s a mauling run blocker, though his technique in pass pro will require some work. Scout said in their evaluation that he’ll have to get stronger, which, okay, yeah, that’s technically true, as every high school player entering college will have to do so, but I like what I’ve seen thus far from Honigford. He’s shown plenty of athleticism and is a more-than-competent puller, so that’s a major plus if he ends up at guard, which, considering the tackles Michigan has already brought in and the ones they’re still in on, is certainly possible if not likely. He’ll have to add 30 or so pounds between now and the time he’s ready to play in college, so hopefully he’s able to retain that athleticism. Also a possibility – the defensive line. On his highlight film, Honigford looked solid at DE. He’d almost certainly be a SDE or DT in college. One person Michigan fans are certainly familiar with seems to think Honigford would be a good D-lineman: Brady Hoke, who, per 247, was Honigford’s primary recruiter from Oregon. About that: 1. HAHAHA. 2. For all his faults as a head coach (and there were a lot of them), Hoke knows defensive line play. I don’t expect Honigford to play DL at Michigan, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

Here’s Michigan’s class as it stands:
