UA-59049186-1 Super Bowl 50 Prop Bets Picks - Good if it Goes

Super Bowl 50 Prop Bets Picks

Shayne:

Every Super Bowl for roughly the last 10 years or so I make a bunch of prop bets on the game to make the game more interesting and to try and make a few bucks. Last year I was very successful in my prop bets and this year I hope to do the same. So here are my favorite bets I made, and would advise you to make the same.

Ted Ginn OVER 47.5 receiving yards

Graham Gano OVER 1.5 FGs MADE

Peyton Manning first half INT YES +105

Ronnie Hillman UNDER 38.5 rushing yards

Ronnie Hillman UNDER 11.5 carries

Combined OVER 5.5 sacks between both teams

Panthers First quarter TD YES +120

Ted Ginn OVER 100 receiving yards +400.

I made a lot more bets but these are the ones I like the most and wanted to share, if you want to discuss any find me on Twitter.

Kevin:

I got this list from SB Nation. They put it up a few days ago, so the lines may have changed a bit. Regardless, here are my picks for this year’s prop bets.

Will Peyton Manning announce his retirement in the postgame interview?

Yes      +500  (5/1)

No        -1000 (1/10)

(Must be on live broadcast.)

My pick: No. I don’t think Peyton’s done. If I thought Denver was going to win the game, I’d really think about going yes on this one, though.

Will Peyton Manning be seen crying at any point during the entire broadcast?

Yes      +600  (6/1)

No        -1200 (1/12)

(Live pictures only, must clearly see a tear.)

My pick: No. Again, I don’t think he’s done.

How many times will “dab” or “dabbing” be said by the announcers during the broadcast?

Over     2          (EVEN, 1/1)

Under   2          (-140, 5/7)

(From kickoff to final whistle, halftime does not count.)

My pick: Over. It’s Nantz and Simms. They’ll beat this into the ground.

If Steph Curry is shown on TV during the broadcast what will he be wearing?

Personalized Carolina Steph Curry Jersey – 1/1

No Jersey – 2/1

Cam Newton Jersey – 3/1

Any Other Carolina Jersey – 5/1

My pick: No jersey.

Will Mike Carey be wrong about a challenge?

Yes      +110 (11/10)

No        -150 (2/3)

(He must be consulted on live broadcast and must clearly take a stance on his position. If not consulted wagers will be No Action.)

My pick: Yes. Mike Carey is bad at this, you guys.

Will there be an earthquake during the game?

Yes      10/1

(Announcer must indicate there was during live broadcast from kickoff until final whistle.)

My pick: There wasn’t a line for no, but I’m going with no.

Will the Panthers player who scores their first TD give the football to a boy or girl?

Boy      -200 (1/2)

Girl       +150 (3/2)

My pick: Boy. I just think there will be more boys than girls at the game.

How many times will the Golden Gate Bridge be shown during the broadcast?

Over     0.5        -300 (1/3)

Under   0.5        +200 (2/1)

(From kickoff to final whistle, halftime does not count.)

My pick: Over. It’s gotta make the broadcast at least once.

How many times will “John Fox” be said during the broadcast?

Over     1          (-140, 5/7)

Under   1          (EVEN, 1/1)

(From kickoff to final whistle, halftime does not count.)

My pick: Over. It will be mentioned at least once. Since the line is exactly 1, I’ll guess it gets mentioned a second time.

How many times will Archie Manning be shown on TV during the broadcast?

Over     1.5        EVEN (1/1)

Under   1.5        -140    (5/7)

(From kickoff to final whistle, halftime does not count.)

My pick: Uhh, over, I think. Archie’s gotta make it on camera at least twice, right?

How many times will John Elway be shown on TV during broadcast?

Over     2.5        EVEN (1/1)

Under   2.5        -140    (5/7)

(From kickoff to final whistle, halftime does not count.)

My pick: I’ll go under on this one. Twice seems about right.

Will the announcers mention that Kubiak was Elway’s backup during the broadcast?

Yes      +120 (6/5)

No        -160 (5/8)

(From kickoff to final whistle, halftime does not count.)

My pick: Yes. Someone will bring it up one of the times they show Elway.

(Predominant color will be graded winner.)

Yes – 15/1

My pick: Yes. He was at the festivities this week, I think he makes an appearance.

How many million viewers will Super Bowl 50 have?

Over/Under – 117 million

My pick: Under. The record was set last year at 114.4 million. Before that, the record was 112.2 million. It was a big jump from the old record to the new one, and a bigger jump would be needed to get to 117 million. I don’t think it happens.

What will the Nielsen Rating be for Super Bowl 50?

Over/Under – 48.5

My pick: Under. The highest rating for a Super Bowl since Super Bowl XX was last year’s game, which got a 47.5, and set viewership records in the process. A full point jump is a lot.

Which region will have a higher Nielsen Rating?

Denver: -140    (5/7)

Charlotte: EVEN (1/1)

My pick: Charlotte. Smaller market, and the fans are into the team this year.

How many wings will Buffalo Wild Wings sell on Super Bowl Day?

Over/Under – 12 million

My pick: Over. If they average 12 wins per guest, they’d need to average about 900 guests at each of their locations (1111 so says Wikipedia). This says “Super Bowl Day,” so over the course of an entire day, that seems doable.

Coin Toss

Heads: -105 (20/21)

Tails: -105 (20/21)

My pick: Tails. I always go with tails.

Will the referee redo the coin toss?

Yes – 20/1

No: -105 (20/21)

My pick: Yes. Why not?

Team to win the coin toss

Carolina Panthers: -105 (20/21)

Denver Broncos: -105 (20/21)

Will the team that wins the coin toss win the game?

Yes: -105 (20/21)

My pick: No. Picked Denver to win the toss, Carolina to win the game.

1st Quarter – 5/1

2nd Quarter – 8/5

3rd Quarter – 9/2

4th Quarter – 5/2

No: +175 (7/4)

My pick: Yes.

Will there be a score in the final 2 minutes of the 1st half?

Will the Panthers rush for a 100 Yards or more for a 32nd straight game?

Yes: -500 (1/5)

No: +300 (3/1)

My pick: Yes. They have too many rushing options to not get there.

Total number of penalties made in the game by both teams

Over/Under – 12½

My pick: Over. More on that later.

Total number of penalties assessed on the Carolina Panthers

Over/Under – 6

My pick: Under.

Total number of penalties assessed on the Denver Broncos
