Top 100 NBA Players of 2016: 60-51

  1. PF. Kenneth Faried – Denver Nuggets
  • Powerful, explosive athlete that moves more like a wing than a power forward. Ferocious dunker.
  • Elite offensive rebounder that plays with a non-stop motor, thrives as the dive man in PnR.
  • Average-at-best defender that should be a lot better. Not great defending on the interior or on the perimeter despite supreme athletic ability.
  1. SF. Tyreke Evans – New Orleans Pelicans
  • Versatile perimeter player capable of playing 3 positions. Has the handle, passing ability, and vision to run the point, scoring ability to play the 2 and size to play the 3.
  • Offensively, he can do a little of everything but the biggest question is how legit is the 39% 3 point shooting he boasted in just 25 games this year?
  • Career underachiever on defense given his physical profile
  1.  SF. Danilo Gallinari – Denver Nuggets
  • Incredibly injury prone forward that just can’t stay healthy. Has only played more than 70 games twice in 8 years.
  • Highly aggressive scorer that got to the line at an alarming rate (over 8 times per game)
  • Caught between positions on defense: Too slow to defend on the perimeter and not strong enough to defend in the interior.
  1. SG. Bradley Beal – Washington Wizards
  • Scoring 2 guard that thrives as a shooter coming off screens on or off the ball
  • Improving as a on ball scorer, showed more ability to create for himself
  • Injury Prone: Has only played more than 70 games once in his 4-year career.
  1. C. Myles Turner – Indiana Pacers
  • Potential star in the making big man that can play either position and impacts the game at both ends.
  • Very skilled offensive big that can really shoot it out to mid-range and has a developing post game
  • 1 of the better young defensive big men in the game, he protects the rim and he’s mobile.
  1. PG. Jeff Teague – Indiana Pacers
  • Super quick PG with nice handles and electric first step. He changes directions in a hurry and can start and stop quickly. Smart decision maker and reliable passer.
  • Doesn’t overly excel at 1 thing but good to very good in a lot of areas offensively. Finishes well and has an effective floater game. Can score on or off the ball.
  • Above-average defender that utilizes his quickness and fights through ball screens well.
  1. C. Nikola Vucevic – Orlando Magic
  • Underrated versatile center that impacts the game offensively in a variety of ways: can score, pass, and crash the glass.
  • Tremendous mid-range shooter that thrives in the face-up and PnP game. Also can run to catch and shoot from mid-range. Comfortable putting the ball on the floor to drive.
  • Not a very good defender: Offers virtually no rim protection and doesn’t really anchor the defense.
  1. SF. Chandler Parsons – Memphis Grizzlies
  • Efficient, high-IQ offensive wing that post high percentages from all over the floor, Had a 59 TS%.
  • Scores in a multitude of ways: thrives in triple threat because he can use his height to rise up and shoot over defenders and has a sneaky quick 1st step and decent handle to drive by and get to the rim. Also a very good finisher at the rim.
  • Both the eye test and plus minus numbers show that Parsons is an average defender. You don’t want him guarding elite perimeter players in pivotal moments but he’s deceptively quick and has a lot of size. Though not great, definitely not a slouch either.
  1. SF. Andre Igoudala – Golden State Warriors
  • All-around defensive star wing that can do some of everything.
  • Elite finisher at the rim and comfortable playing with or without the ball. Improved shooter over the years and can make plays for others.
  • Elite perimeter defender capable of making life hell on opposing team’s stars. 3 position defender.
  1. PG. Tony Parker – San Antonio Spurs
  • Declining Hall of Fame PG who’s age and injury history is starting to catch up to him
  • Thrives as a PnR player, loves to pull up from mid-range. Also still a very effective finisher at the rim. Reliable 3 point shooter but % could be misleading due to low volume.
  • Declining physical attributes makes it tougher for him to handle top PG assignments but he contributes on defense and executes the game plan.
