2021 NFL Mock Draft

The top QB on your author’s big board. But is he the #1 overall pick? [Photo Credit: AP]
Round One
1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
While I have Zach Wilson as QB1 on my board, Lawrence has the highest floor of any QB I’ve ever seen. Jags go the safer route.
2. New York Jets – Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
Wilson’s ceiling is astronomical. His game reminds me of another former Cougar signal caller: Steve Young
3. San Francisco 49ers – Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
At the time this is being written, the 49ers are looking to move Jimmy Garoppolo. That says to me they’re looking for someone to step in right away. Enter Mac Jones, low ceiling, but high floor, and pro ready right away.
4. Atlanta Falcons – Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
The best TE prospect I’ve ever seen. Matt Ryan will be thrilled.
5. Cincinnati Bengals – Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
Joe Burrow gets reunited with one of the weapons that helped him put up the best season of any college QB ever. Chase is the #1 overall player on my bog board in this draft class.
6. Miami Dolphins – Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama
Speaking of reuniting college teammates, the Heisman winner takes his talents to South Beach to catch passes from his former college QB.
7. Detroit Lions – Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
Waddle may be the better of the two Crimson Tide receivers. Detroit is thrilled to land him.
8. Carolina Panthers – Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama
The Panthers shore up their defense with the top CB on my board.
9. Denver Broncos – Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
The Broncos picked up Teddy Bridgewater for a sixth-round pick on Wednesday. I still think they want to beuild around Drew Lock. Here, the top OT on the board just fell into their laps.
10. Dallas Cowboys – Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
The Cowboys need to upgrade their secondary. Horn helps big time.
11. New York Giants – Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan
The Giants land the top edge rusher in the class. Paye is strong against the run as well as rushing the passer.
12. Philadelphia Eagles – Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
The Eagles land the top LB in the class at #12. Parsons is a freakish athlete who could be a star very quickly.
13. Los Angeles Chargers – Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
The Chargers get Justin Herbert some protection.
14. Minnesota Vikings – Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC
The interior line was a weak point for the Vikings a season ago. Vera-Tucker will help protect Kirk Cousins and open holes for Dalvin Cook.
15. New England Patriots – Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
Your author asserts that Jimmy Garoppolo will be a Patriot sooner rather than later, so the fall for Lance and Fields continues. The Pats go with a dynamic threat at receiver.
16. Arizona Cardinals – Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern
Newsome is strong in both man and zone coverage and will help fill the hole left behind by Patrick Peterson.
17. Las Vegas Raiders – Jaylen Mayfield, OT, Michigan
The Raiders grab a right tackle with huge upside.
18. Miami Dolphins – Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
The Dolphins for Tua a receiver earlier in the round, now they get him some protection.
19. Washington Football Team – Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
Ron Rivera will likely see a lot of his former QB Cam Newton in Lance. They’ll sprint to the podium to make this pick.
20. Chicago Bears – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
Fields seems like an ideal fit for a Matt Nagy offense. The Bears are ecstatic to land him, especially since they don’t have to give up any extra picks to do so.
21. Indianapolis Colts – Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami
The Colts bring in some pass rush help.
22. Tennessee Titans – Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
The Titans grab the Golden Gopher receiver to help fill their openings at the position.
23. New York Jets – Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
Etienne, a speedster with strong receiving skills out of the backfield, is a great fit for Mike LaFleur’s offense.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers – Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
This just makes too much sense to not happen, right? Harris would be an excellent fit for the Steelers’ run game.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars – Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
The Jaguars protect their investment in Trevor Lawrence.
26. Cleveland Browns – Jeremiah Owusu-Koremoah, LB, Notre Dame
Cleveland gets a steal here. Owusu-Koremoah is an incredibly gifted cover linebacker.
27. Baltimore Ravens – Terrace Marshall, Jr., WR, LSU
Speaking of steals, the Ravens land a receiver who would be WR1 in a lot of classes. Marshall looks a bit like Julio Jones.
28. New Orleans Saints – Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M
The Saints take their QB of the future. Mond improved every year at Texas A&M, sees the field well, and makes good decisions. The biggest question about him is his deep ball.
29. Green Bay Packers – Asante Samuel, Jr., CB, Florida State
To say Kevin King was a liability in the NFC Championship Game would be an understatement. The Packers beef up their defense here.
30. Buffalo Bills – Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia
Buffalo lands a strong edge rusher towards the end of the round. The question is can he stay healthy?
31. Baltimore Ravens – Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State
The Ravens take a high upside edge rusher here to spruce up their defense.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
The Bucs can afford to gamble on Farley’s health. If he can stay healthy, he’s a massive steal at pick 32.
Round Two
33. Jacksonville Jaguars – Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss
34. New York Jets – Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
35. Atlanta Falcons – Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
36. Miami Dolphins – Javonte Williams, RB, North Carolina
37. Philadelphia Eagles – Tylan Wallace, WR, Oklahoma State
38. Cincinnati Bengals – Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas
39. Carolina Panthers – Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami
40. Denver Broncos – Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
41. Detroit Lions – Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia
42. New York Giants – Landon Dickerson, IOL, Alabama
43. San Francisco 49ers – Christian Barmore, DI, Alabama
44. Dallas Cowboys – Ar’Darius Washington, S, TCU
45. Jacksonville Jaguars – Brevin Jordan, TE, Miami
46. New England Patriots – Levi Onwuzurike, DI, Washington
47. Los Angeles Chargers – Pat Friermuth, TE, Penn State
48. Las Vegas Raiders – Elijah Molden, S, Washington
49. Arizona Cardinals – Tommy Tremble, TE, Notre Dame
50. Miami Dolphins – Jabril Cox, LB, LSU
51. Washington Football Team – Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
52. Chicago Bears – Amari Rodgers, WR, Clemson
53. Tennessee Titans – Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama
54. Indianapolis Colts – Walker Little, OT, Stanford
55. Pittsburgh Steelers – Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
56. Seattle Seahawks – Wyatt Davis, IOL, Ohio State
57. Los Angeles Rams – Cam McGrone, LB, Michigan
58. Kansas City Chiefs – Joseph Ossai, EDGE, Texas
59. Cleveland Browns – D’Wayne Eskridge, WR, Western Michigan
60. New Orleans Saints – Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, USC
61. Buffalo Bills – Michael Carter, RB, North Carolina
62. Green Bay Packers – Baron Browning, LB, Ohio State
63. Kansas City Chiefs – James Hudson, OT, Cincinnati
64. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Davis Mills, QB, Stanford
