Kevin Schroeder's week 8 NFL picks

Four best bets this week. First off, Carolina covers two against an Atlanta team that continues to find new and exciting ways to lose football games.

Pittsburgh is getting points this week and I don’t know why; at most, this should be a pick-em game. But if they’re getting points, I’m going to take them against a Baltimore team whose last outing against a quality team was a two-touchdown loss to Kansas City.

Tampa Bay has been rolling as of late and this week, gets one of the worst teams in the NFL. Bucs cover 10.5.

My lock of the week is the Packers over the Vikings. Same logic as last week’s Packers-Texans game. The Vikings are one of the worst teams in the NFL and while they’ll likely be able to score against a subpar Packer defense, they won’t be able to score enough to make up for their own defense’s inability to stop the Packers.

Lastly, I’m not putting the Chiefs-Jets game in my best bets because, after last week, I’ve been burned by the Jets covering gigantic spreads enough. If you’re feeling brave, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chiefs hang 50 on them. Do with that what you wish. The Chargers -3 was just barely left off my best bets list and I like the over in Green Bay-Minnesota.
