NFL Week 1 Overreactions

  • The Arizona Cardinals are overrated
    • HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! this is the biggest overreaction I’ve seen since week 1 ended. Upsets happen every year, that’s just how the NFL works. But losing by a few points in a game where you missed a chip shot game-winning field goal against a team with the best coach in the NFL hardly means you no longer have a shot to win it all.
  • The Browns Should’ve drafted Carson Wentz
    • This may actually turn out to be true, but we damn sure aren’t in any position to say with any kind of fervor because he looked good in a game where he played against a glorified expansion defense who didn’t even have any real film or way to prepare for him.
  • The Broncos will win the AFC West
    • Never have I seen so many analysts project that the team who won the previous year’s Super Bowl wouldn’t even win their division or make the playoffs during the offs-eason and training camp leading into the next season. Now after 1 game, everybody’s wanting to change their mind and say “Oh wait, I change my mind, the Broncos will make the playoffs.” Maybe they will. I certainly didn’t project them to. But 1 game on opening night on a Thursday where he honestly didn’t play that well, he just didn’t stink it up, is hardly enough evidence for me to feel confident in picking the Broncos to win that division. Don’t get me wrong, I feel better about Denver after actually seeing him play but Siemian didn’t do nearly enough to make me want to throw them into the AFC contender conversation.
  • The Patriots will cake walk to the Super Bowl
    • I picked the Pats to win the AFC and get back to the Super Bowl, but I’m not 1 of those people that are jumping on this “well, they beat Arizona without a lot of their best players, so when they get back they’ll automatically win every game.” The NFL doesn’t work like that. There’s a Pittsburgh team out there that will definitely have something to say about the Patriots coming out of the AFC. Let’s pump the brakes.
  • Jimmy G is the 2nd coming
    • Nobody is more guilty of this overreaction than me and I DON’T CARE!!!! I’m biased and I’m not coming off my stance on Jimmy G until I see him fail with my own two eyes. His 1st game might have been a blip on a trend of mediocrity. It’s just 1 game and realistically we shouldn’t be overreacting to Jimmy G.
