UA-59049186-1 NFL Week 4 Power Rankings - Good if it Goes

NFL Week 4 Power Rankings

  1. Patriots (3-0)
    • Tom Brady, Jimmy G, Jacoby Brissett, it really doesn’t matter – throw me out there at QB and the Pats would still have a chance to win. With Brady 1 week away from returning to the lineup, this should be the most feared team in the NFL right now.
  2. Broncos (3-0)
    • The Patriots might should be the most feared team, but the Broncos remain 1 of the most feared defenses. Each week they continue to play at the high level we’ve come to expect of them but the last thing I ever expected to see this year was Trevor Siemian throwing 4 TDs in 1 game.
  3. Vikings (3-0)
    • The Vikings defense is putting the league on notice right now. After seeing what Denver did last year with mediocre QB play if the Vikings defense continue to play at this level with an actual above average QB in Stafford there’s really no reason this team can’t compete for a Super Bowl.
  4. Eagles (3-0)
    • The team that all the experts picked to finish last in the NFC East is not only 1st but their tied for 1st in the entire NFC. As impressive as Carson Wentz has been the Eagles defense has been the real story led by Fletcher Cox and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. Could the Eagles really be a title contender with a rookie QB or is this all just fool’s gold?
  5. Steelers (2-1)
    • One loss certainly shouldn’t completely decimate a team’s reputation but man was that a bad loss the Steelers suffered to Philly who now holds state bragging rights for best team in state. I think they’ll be fine and were simply victim of a bad week.
  6. Packers (2-1)
    • Rodgers tossed 4 TD passes and some seem to feel they’re back on track but the Packers looked highly vulnerable in that 2nd half. I have faith in their offense but they’ve got some things to figure out on defense.
  7. Seahawks (2-1)
    • Seattle bounced back against a bad 49ers team but right now the biggest issue is the health of Russell Wilson. They’re not going anywhere without him.
  8. Texans (2-1)
    • Losing to the Pats with a 3rd-string rookie QB is going to be 1 of the lowest points of this season for Houston, but on the bright side they’re still 2-1 and head and shoulders above any other team in the AFC South.
  9. Chiefs (2-1)
    • The Chiefs were very impressive against the Jets who many felt had arrived after their week 2 performance on Thursday Night vs the Bills. If their defense can keep that level of play up the Chiefs can start to resemble the team that they were last year when they won 11 straight games down the stretch.
  10. Giants (2-1)
    • The Giants are 2-1 and a case could be made that they could be 3-0 or 0-3. We saw bad Eli against the Redskins which cost them their first loss of the year. They could have just as easily won or lost every game they’ve played this season which tell you that they’re on track to have another roller coaster type of season.
  11. Cowboys (2-1)
    • Dak Prescott continues to impress me more and more each game and now Ezekiel Elliott appears to have joined the party. The offense is clicking and doing a good job of keeping an average defense off the field. If Dallas wants to make it to the postseason that’s the formula to do it.
  12. Panthers (1-2)
    • The Panthers are 1-2, but the degree of difficulty in their early schedule must be factored in as both of their losses came at the hands of teams I have in the top 3 of these power rankings. A chaotic week in the city of Charlotte also very well could have played a role in the team’s performance.
  13. Ravens (3-0)
    • By hook or by crook, the Ravens are 3-0. They were trailing in the 4th quarter against two 0-3 teams in the Jags and Browns and they squeaked out a win over a bad Bills team. I can’t rank this team much higher than this but there is something to be sad for actually finding a way to be 3-0.
  14. Raiders (2-1)
    • The Raiders are 2-1 and trying to keep pace with the Broncos and Chiefs to stay within this division race. Their defense played a lot better in week 3, but it was against a Titans team that hasn’t scored over 20 points in a game yet this season.
  15. Falcons (2-1)
    • Atlanta looks lights out on offense right now. Even in a game when Julio only catches 1 pass they still managed to put up 45 points. They’re currently number 1 in the NFL in scoring and yards per game.
  16. Bengals (1-2)
    • What is wrong with the Bengals? If not for some very fortunate events in their week 1 contest vs. the Jets this team would be 0-3. They aren’t scoring a lot of points and the defense can’t seem to stop people.
  17. Cardinals (1-2)
    • Was it the cross country trip or are the Cardinals just not as good as we thought they were? Somehow Carson Palmer looks like he’s regressing as he threw 4 interceptions in last weeks game against the Bills.
  18. Rams (2-1)
    • After a shocking and embarrassing loss in week 1 against the 49ers the Rams have completely turned it around with wins over the Seahawks and Bucs.
  19. Jets (1-2)
    • If you thought Carson Palmer’s 4 interception game was bad, Ryan Fitzpatrick decided he wasn’t going to be upstaged in this battle of who can throw the most interceptions Fitzpatrick easily won the day with a whopping 6 completions to the opposing team.
  20. Buccaneers (1-2)
    • What is going on with Tampa? It looked as if they may be ready to take the next step after a very impressive week 1 win but they are 0-2 since and the defense has looked atrocious.
  21. Titans (1-2)
    • The Titans can run the ball and are quietly 1 of the better defenses in the NFL right now but they just can’t seem to get the ball in the end zone. Through 3 games they’ve only scored 42 points.
  22. Lions (1-2)
    • For back-to-back weeks, the Lions defense has come up short in the 4th quarter when they needed key stops after many praised them for doing the opposite in week 1. I think the real Lions are the team we’ve seen in the last 2 weeks and not the 1 we saw in week 1.
  23. Colts (1-2)
    • The Colts beating a Chargers team decimated by injury doesn’t impress me a bit. This team still can’t stop anybody on defense and they don’t have a run game.
  24. Bills (1-2)
    • Even bad teams have a good week every now and then in the NFL and I think that’s all what happened in their game against the Cardinals was. What are the odds Palmer or any other QB throws them 4 interceptions in a game again this year?
  25. Redskins (1-2)
    • The Giants victory was much needed to keep the Redskins in the NFC East hunt but they certainly didn’t do anything in their victory against the Giants to exude confidence in them. The Giants should’ve won that game.
  26. Chargers (1-2)
    • San Diego just can’t seem to catch a break. Kennan Allen, Danny Woodhead, and now Manti T’eo are all now out for the season. It’s looking like it’s going to be another year in the dumps for the Chargers.
  27. 49ers(1-2)
    • The 49ers are doing all they can to maximize what they have but when you can’t throw the football in today’s NFL you really just don’t have a chance to win. This team can’t do anything through the air right now.
  28. Dolphins (1-2)
    • Things have gotten so bad for the Dolphins that it took overtime just to beat the Browns.
  29. Saints (0-3)
    • Only the Saints could hold Julio Jones to 1 catch for 16 yards and still get hit for 45 points. FREE DREW BREES!!!!!!!
  30. Jaguars (0-3)
    • Gus Bradley might be on the hottest seat in the NFL right now. The Jags have all this talent and can’t win a game. We’ve seen 1 college coach get fired and he’s on the verge of being the 1st NFL coach to go if he doesn’t turn things around.
  31. Browns (0-3)
    • The Browns are 0-3 as expected but what we weren’t counting on was them taking every team they play to the wire. It only shows you that Hue Jackson is already at work getting things moving in the right direction in Cleveland.
  32. Bears (0-3)
    • With all the injuries, the Bears are simply the worst team in the NFL right now. They can’t stop the run, they can’t stop the pass, they can’t run and they can’t pass. It’s really a disaster in Chicago right now.
