Super Bowl LV Prop Bets Picks

Still the gold standard for halftime shows. [Getty]

Mike and Shayne made their picks on a special edition of the Good Podcast. I make mine here, as is tradition. List at Sporting News.

Coin toss: Tails (-105)

Tails never fails.

Which Anheuser-Busch brand commercial will air first?: Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade (+175)

The commercial plays on 2020 being a “lemon of a year.” It’s lighthearted and the type of ad that could air before kickoff. Also, I’m willing to bet that Anheuser-Busch wants to push the seltzer product, as they have become quite popular.

Color of liquid poured on the winning coach: Orange (+110)

a. It’s been the most popular color in recent years. b. My column drops in a couple hours. Circle back here after reading that for the second reason I like orange.

What players will pour Gatorade on the winning coach?: Offensive (+150)

Sporting News:

For the Chiefs, this feels like it will be a Travis Kelce thing (like it was last year with an offensive lineman), but of course it will depend on which unit is on the field. For the Bucs, there’s a good chance Gronk will be involved. The value is with “offensive players,” so that bet makes sense.

Couldn’t agree more. Can’t believe the odds are that high.

Will Tony Romo correctly predict an offensive play?: Yes (-200)

Another one that feels obvious.

What will be the first song played during the halftime show?: Blinding Lights (+400)

Am I picking this because it’s the only Weeknd song I know? Partly, yes. But I also feel like that song’s intro would make for a good opener.

What will be the last song played during the halftime show?: Blinding Lights (-240)

Am I picking this because it’s the only Weeknd song I know? Again, partly, yes. But it was a huge hit, it’s been in all the ads hyping the halftime show, and the second half of the song makes a great closer. It wouldn’t shock me at all to see him split it up, so that’s my pick.

How long will the national anthem run?: Over 1:59 (EVEN)

I know absolutely nothing about Eric Church and only know of Jazmine Sullivan from her performance of the anthem at the Blackhawks – Wild outdoor game a few years back. That one went way under 1:59, HOWEVA, this is the Super Bowl and a duet. I like the over.
