Hopefully, a game like this rights the ship for the Blackhawks. After a less than spectacular first period, the offense got going. The defense was better than it had been in recent games. Scott Darling, a year to the day after his first career shutout, notched his second one. The penalty kill seemed to have ironed some of its issues out. This was a great all-around performance by the Hawks. Now, the Jets aren’t exactly world beaters, so maybe take this game with just a grain of salt, but still, it was nice to see the team play like this. This can’t be just a one-night thing, though; the team’s going to have to keep their foot on the gas.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 A)
★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (1 G (GWG), 1 A)
★ Scott Darling, G, CHI (28 SV, SO)
