Blackhawks 4, Wild 1
- Updated: December 17, 2017
The Blackhawks extended their winning streak to five with an impressive performance at home Sunday night against the Minnesota Wild. The Nick Schmaltz – Patrick Kane connection struck again. Kane got a second goal on a breakaway. Ryan Hartman scored a gritty goal early in the third. Tommy Wingels added an empty netter late with the Wild on a power play. Corey Crawford was excellent, allowing only one goal. Maybe this is just who this team is. When they’re on, there are few teams better. When they’re not, there are many teams better. Ideally, they’ll become less streaky as the season goes on. If they don’t, then we just have to hope that they can get hot late and ride that through the playoffs.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Ryan Hartman, F, CHI (1 G)
★★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (27 SV, 1 GA)
★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (2 G (GWG))
