UA-59049186-1 Blackhawks 5, Predators 2 - Good if it Goes

Blackhawks 5, Predators 2

Box score (Yahoo)

The Blackhawks got off to a solid start in this third of a four-game homestand. After a couple good looks, the Hawks got the game’s first goal when Patrick Kane made a great pass to Artemi Panarin, who blasted it past Pekka Rinne. The goal came 7:45 into the period. The Hawks’ lead would last only 45 seconds, though, as Mattias Ekholm would beat Corey Crawford for his second of the season. The Hawks’ would get the lead bad a few minutes later on a goal by Niklas Hjalmarsson. Hammer’s goal would be the last one in the period. The second period saw some nice looks for both sides, but good goaltending resulted in a scoreless period. Austin Watson tied the game just over two minutes into the third and the game would remain tied until the Ryan Hartman show started. Hartman gave the Hawks a lead on a wonky goal where the puck bounced off his body and went in. Once the Predators pulled Rinne, the local kid would add a pair of empty-netters for his first career hat trick.
