Ducks 3, Blackhawks 2

Today’s new and exciting way to lose was to score the first two goals then give up the next three. Duncan Keith scored his first goal in forever and Brandon Saad followed it up with his in almost forever. Then stupid mistakes lead to yet another loss. It all comes back to the way this team’s built. The defense just isn’t good enough. I still don’t blame Stan Bowman for the Niklas Hjalmarsson trade because they can still get something for Connor Murphy and that something is still more than the nothing they would have gotten letting Hjalmarsson walk in free agency after they can’t afford to pay him. But Murphy’s been a disappointment, ditto Seabrook, and everyone else only haven’t been disappointments because there were no expectations in the first place. That lousy defense wasn’t doing the forwards any favors even with Corey Crawford around and when you’re stuck starting various jabronis in net, it’s a killer.
