Well, the streak had to end at some point. This was extra unpleasant, though. The Hawks got a goal in the first minute and then Tampa dominated, giving the Hawks very few scoring opportunities. Crawford had to be very good just to keep the Hawks in it. I’m not too happy about the second goal he let in, but again, he had to make a lot of great saves just to keep the Hawks in the game, so I can’t be too mad at him.

Earlier in the day, the Hawks traded Ryan Garbutt to Anaheim for Jiri Sekac. Garbutt was a solid bottom six guy, but that’s about it. My guess is the Hawks will give Sekac a shot in Chicago. If it doesn’t go so well, they can send him to Rockford without him having to clear waivers. There’s plenty of talent in Rockford that could be at least as good as Garbutt was. Looking a bit farther ahead, Garbutt has one more year on his contract, while Sekac is an RFA after this year.

My picks for 3 stars:

★★★ Artem Anisimov, C, CHI (1 G)

★★ Nikita Kucherov, RW, TBL (1 G (GWG))

★ Victor Hedman, D, TBL (2 A)
