For a lot of the game, the Blackhawks were very lackluster. The offense lacked any real fire and the defense was making silly mistakes. After falling behind 2-0, the offense woke up a bit and tied the game. The momentum didn’t carry over to the third, though, and the Wild got far more chances than the Hawks did early on. Thanks to good play by Scott Darling, who had another nice start tonight, the Hawks were able to force overtime. Both teams would only get one shot in OT, neither would go in, and we would head to a shootout, where Minnesota would take the extra point.

My picks for 3 stars:

★★★ Richard Panik, RW, CHI (1 G)

★★ Erik Haula, C, MIN (1 G)

★ Nino Neiderreiter, RW, MIN (1 G, 1 A)
