UA-59049186-1 2025 Week 15: Chicago Bears 31, Cleveland Browns 3 - Good if it Goes

2025 Week 15: Chicago Bears 31, Cleveland Browns 3

This dude is a better passer than Shedeur Sanders.

Player Grades

The grading scale goes from -2 to +2, in half-point increments, for each play. Screens are graded as runs. Penalties are counted in whatever phase they were committed. Pre- and post-snap penalties are in the “Misc.” column. “Short” throws are less than 15 yards, “Deep” is over 15 or more. Everything else (scrambles, throwaways, reads, etc.) is under “Miscellaneous.” Parentheses in a column denote grades/snaps from the opposite side of the ball and are not included in grades/snaps from the player’s usual side. Snap counts are from Pro Football Reference. Box score and other relevant info can be found at that link as well.

[Note: No snap counts for the defense this week, as grading stopped after the Bears went up 4 TDs.]

That was fun.

Indeed it was. It was nice to have an easy, stress-free Sunday where the Bears just ran over a bad team instead of screwing around and nearly losing to them.

Did we learn anything about the team, though?

They need a new kicker.

We already knew that.

The people with the ability to make that decision apparently don’t. I mean, yeah, thanks Cairo for stabilizing the kicking situation a few years ago, but you ain’t cutting it anymore.

Besides that, though?

The Browns stink. But we already knew that, too. It had been suggested semi-humorously on Bears Twitter that they need to trade for Myles Garrett this off-season, but that’s not a joke anymore. The Browns need to move Garrett and totally rebuild. Trade down in April. Spend next year figuring out if Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders are any good (they aren’t, but why start the clock on your new rookie QB’s contract when you’re going to be awful anyway, unless you just absolutely love one of the guys in this class, and if you do, that’s it’s own problem) and accumulating assets to build this thing right.

Why can’t Shedeur be the guy?

Look, he throws a nice deep ball. But he’s a disaster under any sort of pressure. Which is an extra big problem because he doesn’t get through his reads quickly. We’ve seen what happens when you try to roll Justin Fields out there at QB. I don’t see how a less athletic version of that fares better.

This turned into kind of a Browns post.

Yeah, I guess. This game boiled down to “the Bears are good and the Browns aren’t.” There’s only so much to talk about there. And I don’t feel like talking about Kevin Warren’s empty threat.

But…

No.

Okay.
