Sharks 4, Blackhawks 3 (SO)
- Updated: March 27, 2018

The Blackhawks played a strong game against one of the hottest teams in the NHL, but fell just short in a shootout. San Jose got the scoring started 9:15 in the first, but the Hawks took the lead later in the period with a pair of goals 1:18 apart. San Jose got the next two – one in the second from Evander Kane that Anton Forsberg really needed to stop and one in the third from Tomas Hertl that I was less mad about. Patrick Sharp tied the game for the Hawks with 2:22 to play and that was the last goal scored in regulation. While the Hawks got a couple solid chances in overtime, the Sharks got the better of the action. However, neither team scored and we would head to a shootout. After 65 minutes of mostly solid hockey, Forsberg made a couple solid saves in the shootout…but badly missed a couple other ones that ended up being the difference.
