WWE Day 1 Results

Hello, everyone! Happy New Year, and welcome to Atlanta, GA, the site for tonight’s event, “WWE Day 1”! Tonight, there will be seven matches, with four championships on the line. Originally, there were five but, Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19, therefore his match with Brock Lesnar was canceled, and instead, Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship match instead, making it a Fatal 5-way.  So, without further ado, let us get this thing going!

  1. Cesaro and Ricochet vs. Sheamus and Ridge Holland. Winners: Sheamus and Ridge Holland!
  2. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs. The New Day (King Woods and Knight Kofi): Smackdown Tag Team Championship. Winners and STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos!
  3. Madcap Moss (w/ Happy Corbin) vs. Drew McIntyre. Winner: Drew McIntyre!
  4. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle): Raw Tag Team Championship. Winners and STILL Raw Tag Team Champions: RK-Bro!
  5. The Miz (w/ Maryse) vs. Edge (w/ Beth Phoenix). Winner: Edge!
  6. Liv Morgan vs. Becky Lynch: Raw Women’s Championship. Winner and STILL Raw Women’s Champion: Becky Lynch!
  7. Seth “Freakin'” Rollins vs. Kevin Owens vs. “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley (w/ MVP) vs. Big E vs. Brock Lesnar: Fatal 5-Way for the WWE Championship. Winner and NEW WWE Champion: Brock Lesnar!

Tonight felt different, as you don’t see many WWE events on a Saturday night. Let alone one on a holiday. But, that is what the WWE did this time, and start the year out with a bang. Some of the matches were good. Some could’ve been better. I wasn’t too thrilled with Lesnar being added to the WWE Championship match, but, I guess he was promised to be in a championship match, and Reigns was out sick, there was only one option. I just wished that Lesnar didn’t win, though. But, it looked like they are setting up something between Lesnar and Lashley, and that could be very interesting.

I was kind of hoping Liv would have beaten Becky, but, it didn’t happen. It was a good match, in my eyes, though. The match for the Raw Tag Team Championships was very good, especially at the end. Riddle and Randy Orton have gelled so much, and even the respect that was shown at the end of the match was good to see.

That is going to do it for tonight. The next event will be on January 29th, for the Royal Rumble event from St. Louis, MO. See you all then!
