WWE Money in the Bank 2015 Review

Sheamus won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match over Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Kane, and Roman Reigns

Most of the guys brawled early, then Kofi noticed everyone fighting everyone else, so he grabbed ladder and went for briefcase. Everyone else noticed what he was doing and stopped him from going up. Everyone else then tried going up ladder. It was a clever spot. Then there was more brawling.

Big E & Xavier Woods would come out to help Kofi. Reigns powerbombed Kofi out of the ring onto the others in the match. Reigns climbed the ladder and looked like he was about to win, but Bray Wyatt came out, knocked Reigns off ladder, and hit Sister Abigail. Sheamus climbed the ladder, then Neville climbed on other side. Sheamus knocked Neville off the ladder and won. There was no real flow to the match. There were a lot of guys just sitting around for a lot of the match, with people taking turns doing spots. -★¼

Nikki Bella defeated Paige to retain the WWE Divas Championship

Nikki did jumping jacks. I’m not sure why. Paige took out Nikki on the outside from the apron, then went on the barricade. Nikki picked her up and faceplanted her on the barricade. The match went back in the ring. Nikki got a near-fall, then Paige rolled outside. Nikki pulled up the apron then drove Paige into side of ring. Because, as we all know, the apron provides a great deal of padding. Then, Nikki did push-ups. The match then went back-and-forth. It was okay, but not great. Paige hit the Ram-Paige, but Nikki kicked out. The Bellas used twin magic, despite the fact that they don’t look alike anymore. Brie went for roll-up, but Paige countered and pinned Brie and was announced as the winner. Brie pulled tissues out of her top to show the ref she’s not Nikki, so match then went on. Nikki came back in the ring, hit Paige with a forearm, then hit the Rack Attack and won. There was no DQ for Brie’s interference, apparently. Even the announcers were calling this dumb. They also had to mention how Brie had to hide her face to show she’s not Nikki. So why do twin magic? Also, it wasn’t Brie’s face that convinced the ref she wasn’t Nikki. This was stupid. Also, the match went way too long. #DontGiveNikkiAChance -★★★★

The Big Show defeated Ryback by disqualification in a match for the WWE International Championship

The Miz cut a pointless promo, then stayed to do commentary. I was thrilled by this. I guess the Big Show is a heel. At least this week, he is. The match went outside of the ring, Ryback threw Miz over announce table and said his face is annoying. He’s right, it is. There was lots of bad brawling and rest holds. Ryback went for Shell Shocked, but Big Show countered and hit the Knockout Punch, sending Ryback out of the ring. Big Show got Ryback back in the ring, but as Big Show rolled back in, Miz attacked him, causing the DQ. Miz then attacked Ryback and left. -★★¼

John Cena defeated Kevin Owens, because of course he did

The match started out slow, with both men playing mind games. Cena went for his 5 moves. Owens countered side slam and hit the moves himself, but Cena countered AA into STF. Owens got near the ropes, Cena went to reapply the STF, but Owens countered, got up and went for the AA again, but Cena countered into a reverse suplex. The match went back-and-forth, with both men countering each other’s moves. Cena hit the AA, but Owens kicked out. Cena argued with the ref. It was nowhere close to 3. Owens hit a spinning sitout powerbomb, but Cena kicked out. Owens didn’t complain, despite this near-fall being much closer to a 3-count. Take notes, John.

Cena countered a pop-up powerbomb into a huricanrana, but Owens hit a superkick. Cena kicked out. Cena hit another AA, but Owens kicked out. Cena went for a superplex, but Owens countered it. Cena put Owens in STF and Owens got to the ropes. Cena hit what looked like a reverse Canadian Destroyer, but Owens kicked out. Owens hit pop-up powerbomb, but Cena kicked out. Owens tried to set Cena up again, but Cena hit the springboard stunner. It was hard to tell if he hit it or if Owens countered, but I guess he hit it. It didn’t get Cena a win, and never has, and Owens couldn’t even sell it because he wasn’t supposed to, so why do it? I guess nobody watched Austin’s interview with Heyman. Anyway, Cena hit the AA and won. After the match, Cena went to shake Owens’ hand, but Owens kicked him in gut and out of the ring. Owens hit Cena with a powerbomb on the apron and raised the U.S. title before throwing it down and leaving. Cena had to be helped to back, which was surprising since Owens didn’t pick the apron up before hitting the powerbomb, and apparently, the apron provides a lot of padding. Right, Nikki? It was another good match between these two, but not close to the first one. Part of that’s because the first was so great, though. ★★★¼

The Primetime Players defeated the New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) to win the WWE Tag Team Championship

The New Day got the heat on Darren. Titus took the hot tag. Big E broke up a near fall on Xavier and later took out Darren. Xavier tried a roll-up on Titus, but Titus kicked out. Titus then hit Clash of the Titus and won. This was a Raw match. ★¾

Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose in a Ladder Match to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The match went back-and-forth early. They brawled on the outside with a ladder, then Ambrose went for the title. Rolins got up and went up the ladder, too. Neither got the belt. Ambrose went for the title, but Rollins hit him in the knee with a chair. Rollins got the heat on Ambrose, working his leg. Rollins went for the belt, Ambrose made a comeback, but was cut off shortly after. Rollins worked the leg some more. Ambrose made another comeback. The match went to the outside. Seth tried to run away. In a ladder match. Dean chased him. Again, this was a ladder match. The match came back towards the ring. Ambrose hit a back body drop on Rollins through a ladder set up between the ring and the announce table. These two (and the guys in the MITB match) were selling these ladders like they weighed 300 pounds. Yet one buckled when Rollins landed on it. The match went back outside. They brawled on the Spanish table. Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on it. The table didn’t break. The fans chanted “one more time.” Look for this spot on the next Botchamania. Ambrose hopped up the ladder, then Rollins hit him in the leg with a TV monitor. Rollins hit the pedigree. Ambrose kept Rollins from the title, sent Rollins out of the ring, then went to climb the ladder. Rollins dragged him out of the ring and powerbombed Ambrose into the barricade. Rollins powerbombed Ambrose onto a ladder then buried him in chairs. Rollins climbed up the ladder. Ambrose came back and climbed up. Both guys grabbed the belt and fell off the ladder. Rollins held on to it and won. This match went way too long, did way too little, and the finish blew. -★★½

Overall: This show sucked, and unlike the last show that sucked, didn’t have 4 and 5-star matches bailing it out. -★★★½
