WWE WrestleMania 37 (Night 1) Results

Good evening, everyone, and welcome to a rainy Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fl, for night one of “WrestleMania 37!” Tonight is special, as it is the first time in over a year, that the WWE has performed in front of a live audience. For night one, there will be three championship matches, and the main event will be historic, as two women of color will be main eventing. So, after a 37-minute rain delay, let’s get to the action!

  1. Drew McIntyre vs. “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley (w/ MVP). WWE Championship. Winner and STILL WWE Champion: “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley!
  2. Lana and Naomi vs. Billie Kaye and Carmella vs. The Riott Squad vs. Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose Natalya and Tamina. Tag Team Turmoil Match. (Winner faces Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on Sunday). Winners: Natalya and Tamina!
  3. Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro. Winner: Cesaro!
  4. The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) vs. AJ Styles and Omos. WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. Winners and NEW Raw Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles and Omos!
  5. Shane McMahon (w/ Elias and Jaxson Ryker) vs. Braun Strowman. Steel Cage Match.
  6. The Miz and John Morrison vs. Damian Priest and Bad Bunny. Winners: Damian Priest and Bad Bunny!
  7. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks. WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Winner and NEW Smackdown Women’s Champion: Bianca Belair!

After a rainy start to the start of tonight, the rest of the event went by pretty much uneventful, save for Mandy Rose slipping on the ramp while on her way to the ring. There wasn’t much in the way of big surprises tonight. Although, I was kind of hoping Drew McIntyre would have beaten Bobby Lashley, instead of passing out to start the night.

I tell you what, though. Bad Bunny impressed me. He pulled off moves like he was doing it all his life. Granted he was still a bit green and stiff, but, that’s expected. The best move of the night was, what is called the Canadian Destroyer, now, thanks to the announce team, redubbed the Bunny Destroyer! That had everyone’s jaw dropped. Another amazing feat, was when Braun Strowman ripped a corner of the steel cage off its rivets in order to get his hands on Shane McMahon. Very impressive.

The night ended with tears of joy for one competitor, and in tears and a welp, for another. Bianca Belair beat Sasha Banks in a hard-fought battle, and Sasha tried to use Bianca’s own hair against her, but, in the end, it would be Bianca that would use her hair as a whip to give Sasha a nasty welp across her belly that echoed throughout the stadium!

There’s not much more I can say about tonight, so stay tuned to tomorrow night for night two of “WrestleMania 37” from Raymond James Stadium, and hopefully, the weather will hold off.
