WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2021 Results

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the new home of the “WWE Thunderdome”, the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. Also, welcome to “WWE WrestleMania Backlash”! Tonight, there will be seven matches, with five of them being championship matches. Including two Triple Threat Matches. It should be fun, so without further ado, let’s get going!

  1. Sheamus vs. Ricochet. Winner: Sheamus!
  2. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka vs. Rhea Ripley: Triple Threat Match for the Raw Women’s Championship. Winner and STILL Raw Women’s Champion: Rhea Ripley!
  3. The Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode) vs. The Mysterios (Rey and Dominik Mysterio): WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Winners and NEW Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Mysterios!
  4. The Miz (w/ John Morrison) vs. Damian Priest: “Zombie” Lumberjack Match. Winner: Damian Priest!
  5. Bayley vs. Bianca Belair: WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Winner and STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion: Bianca Belair!
  6. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley (w/ MVP): Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship. Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Bobby Lashley!
  7. Cesaro vs. Roman Reigns (w/ Paul Heyman): WWE Universal Championship. Winner and STILL Universal Champion: Roman Reigns!

Overall, tonight wasn’t too bad. There were some hopes for some matches. I was hoping that The Mystrios would win their match, and I was also hoping for Cesaro to win. Shame Cesaro didn’t, but, he has nothing to be ashamed of.  Sadly, the drought of the WWE or Universal Championship changing hands at a PPV continues.  I think Cesaro is going to be taking some time off after the assault to him done by Jey Uso and Seth Rollins. Granted, it was after the match, but still.

Seeing the “Zombie” lumberjacks tonight was a fun way to do it. Although, I thought it fell kind of short. And, there was no resolution to what happened to The Miz or John Morrison. The women’s matches weren’t that bad. I’m just tired of seeing Charlotte in the championship picture all the time. Give the other women a chance. I bet it would surprise a lot of folks if they were given a proper chance, but that’s just my opinion.

There really isn’t a whole lot to say about tonight. It was exciting, yet lackluster in certain spots. Now is the time to build up to next month’s event, which just happens to be on Father’s Day, June 20th: “WWE Hell in a Cell”. See you all then!
