What’s Going On Eviscerates Jay Mariotti

I wasn’t going to blog this originally because I didn’t have a ton to say about it and figured I could get the point across in a few tweets, but then I decided that the best possible thing to do here was to use this as blog material, so here it is. Thursday night, noted woman beater and guy who hasn’t been relevant in years Jay Mariotti tweeted this out:

This is some of the smarmiest yelling at clouds I’ve ever seen. Doofus continued:

See the problem there? Well then, you’re not alone.

Then the moron played himself one more time.

Mariotti’s “serious” articles don’t move the needle because most people figured out he’s a dope long ago and have quit paying attention to him. That is, until he goes on Twitter and begs for people to call him a dope. Jay Mariotti hasn’t been relevant since he left Chicago, and good riddance there. Mariotti was the biggest clown to ever pollute Chicago media, and that’s saying quite a bit considering some of the morons employed by the city’s traditional media outlets. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Chicago’s the greatest city in the world. Chicago is the greatest sports city in the world. But man, we have some real idiots in the sports media here. And here is where blogs come in: traditional media has become mostly a series of hot take factories. Today, it’s blogs that are providing the most substantive sports analysis. Mariotti’s claim that “real journalists” make intellectual impact is only not a load of crap because a negative impact is still an impact. There are a handful of quality sportswriters here (Mark Potash, Chris Kuc, Patrick Finley, and Mark Lazerus to name a few off the top of my head), but as a whole, when comparing the quality of content, the blogosphere is ahead and it’s not close. To put a bow on things:

Screw you, Mariotti.
