What’s Going On Has Two Words For Hugh Freeze

Thursday, the ban on satellite camps was overturned by the NCAA. Was this a case of the NCAA realizing that the ban was incredibly stupid and would take away a lot of opportunities from a lot of kids or even them realizing that most of the schools were actually against the ban? Maybe, but it’s significantly more likely that they looked at the situation, saw another lawsuit on the horizon, and decided they didn’t want to deal with that since they’re involved in a bunch of lawsuits already. But whatever the reason, it’s still nice to see the NCAA be on the right side of something for a change.

The overturning of the ban was less than ideal for the SEC, who had fought so hard to get the camps banned. Hugh Freeze must have been pretty bummed, but the camps are back Hugh,

Since the SEC cared so deeply about this, of course their next move was to overturn their own ban on such camps. In fact, The Georgia Coach is going to be working camps with Jim Harbaugh now. If you click that link, you’ll notice someone else is going to be working camps with Harbaugh. Hey Hugh Freeze, how ya doin’? I guess you’re down with that, eh? You may remember Hugh as the guy with the audacity to say he doesn’t want to put in more effort at his job but still wants to keep making nearly $5 million a year. Thursday must have been a pretty bad day for him. Don’t see how things could get much worse for Hugh.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Those are pictures of exchanges between Laremy Tunsil and Hugh Freeze. Ole Miss is supposedly investigating whether or not the messages are legit. Tunsil said they were.

Then Tunsil was asked about the Instagram posts. He said he’d just found out about them, and reiterated that he’d made a mistake. Asked by reporter as to whether there’d been an exchange of money between Tunsil and a coach, he first responded, “I wouldn’t say that.” But when pressed a few moments later, he said, “Those messages?” almost as if he hadn’t understood the previous questions. “Those were true. Like I said, I made a mistake.”

Asked again if there had been an exchange of money, Tunsil then responded matter-of-factly, “I have to say yeah.” A further question about whether he’d met with the NCAA was being posed when Milam appeared from behind a curtain, cutting the session short. “He’s got no more comments. Thank you guys so much,” she said, tapping the offensive lineman on the shoulder, whisking him away and leaving media as baffled as Tunsil apparently had been.

“There’s no way I heard that correctly,” a reporter in the front row said. “There’s no f—ing way that just happened.”

This is a confirmation of something that anyone with eyes knew was going on. I don’t blame Tunsil, or any other college athlete who has taken money or will take money, for doing so. Hopefully, in the near future we can just drop the whole amateurism charade. But for now, it’s still against the rules, so let’s hope the NCAA drops the hammer because screw Ole Miss, screw the SEC, and screw Hugh Freeze.
