From the Falcon Nest: Air Force Michigan State Preview
- Updated: September 19, 2015
A friend of mine and Air Force alumnus Matt Spretnjak writes about Air Force football over at the Falcon Nest, along with his friend Kip DiEugenio. Here’s a preview of their latest piece.
Kevin: San Jose State features the worst Michigan coach of the last decade from each unit. Al Borges is the offensive coordinator and, somehow, the QB coach. You may remember Al Borges as the guy who thought it was a good idea to try to turn Denard Robinson into a pro style quarterback. Greg Robinson is the defensive coordinator. I think he needs to return all the paychecks he got from Michigan, because at no point during his tenure there was the defense coordinated. Dan Ferrigno is the special teams coordinator. He had trouble counting to 11 last year.
Kevin: If there’s a weakness in MSU’s defense, it’s the secondary. Air Force is starting their backup QB and isn’t much of a passing team to begin with, so I wouldn’t count on them exploiting that weakness. Still, I think they beat the spread. The Spartans? Probably not.
