Is Vince What’s “Best For Business”?

I know this topic has been beaten to death among the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) but with this being my first article for Good If It Goes I’m going to take this opportunity to throw my shovel full of dirty on things. Drum roll please…

Does Vincent Kennedy McMahon really know what is best for business? I know he’s not nearly as visible as he was during the chronicled “Attitude Area”, but he is still the head of a multi-million dollar company, and has not only fans to answer to but more importantly stockholders. They should all be asking “Vince, are you best for business”? Now without a doubt, the man has created some of the biggest stars the wrestling business has ever seen (see Hogan, Stone Cold, The Rock), but he has had his busts as well, in fact too many to name in one article. I liken VKM to Babe Ruth. They both hit a ton of home-runs, but struck-out twice as much.

Unfortunately right now VKM is in a slump. Yet this slump has nothing to do with not having the talent, it has to do with the over production, over scripting, under-utilization of the talent he has. Not to mention when VKM digs his heels in, the product really begins to suffer. Case in point this past year’s Royal Rumble. Roman-Freaking-Reigns has been shoved down the throat of the WWE Universe. Vince gave the fans what he thinks they need, not what they want. Now I think fans want to see a second generation star like Reigns be successful but they don’t want it jammed down their throat. The WWE Universe did some “jamming” of their own by utterly crapping on the win of Roman Reigns in the Royal Rumble. They jammed it right up VKM’s ass with the chorus of boo’s that not even the blasting of music, or the appearance of The Rock could stop.

Now let’s keep in mind Roman Reigns has star written all over him, he’s a can’t miss blue chipper and he was booed out of the building at one of the biggest shows of the year. He is also a pet project of VKM and that happened. It’s not Roman’s fault, but is VKM being so intricately involved with the potential star power that this kid has best for business? I’ll let you decide but, it seems like Philly spoke so loud and clear for many of us already.
