Reuben Jones and Zach Gentry Commit to Michigan

Jim Harbaugh got his first two commitments as head coach at Michigan Saturday, landing 3* SDE Reuben Jones, and then 4* QB Zach Gentry. Jones, a former Nebraska commit, is a nice get, as Michigan is a bit thin at defensive end. While he’s listed by recruiting services as a SDE, he’s only 6’3, 223, so he’s going to need to bulk up, and even then he’s more likely to see the field in the WDE/OLB pass rusher spot, which is a big need for Michigan right now.

Gentry, a former Texas commit, is a great pickup. He’s listed by ESPN at 6’7, 237 and is Rivals’ #4 pro-style quarterback. The QB position is a major concern for Michigan right now, but between Shane Morris, Wilton Speight, Alex Malzone, and now Zach Gentry, I’m confident that Coach Harbaugh (still fun to write that) will have someone ready for Utah.
