Usain Bolt- Road to Rio: Ostrava Golden Spike

Usain “Lightning” Bolt was back at it again at the Golden Spike event in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Bolt won the 100m final with slower than usual competition. He ran a 9.98 against the wind which was a shave faster than his first 2016 race where he ran a “slow” 10.05.

The highlight of this race was for Bolt to meet up with American decathlon champ Ashton Eaton. However, Eaton pulled out due to an injury. Bolt was the standout yet again and was the only man to run sub-10 second speed.

Bolt was “happy [he] got under 10 seconds.” He also mentioned that he was injury free and that his hamstrings were a non-factor. He just wants to race more, and mentioned that the more that he races before Rio, the better off he will be.
