WWE Backlash 2017 Results

Hello everyone and welcome once again, to WWE Backlash from Chicago, Illinois! You know how this works by now. If not, I will refresh your memories. I will put down the results of the each of the matches here tonight, and then give my thoughts about it.  With that, all said and done… let’s get right to it!

1. Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English: Winner is Tye Dillinger!

2) Dolph Ziggler vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: Winner is Shinsuke Nakamura!

3) Usos (Jimmy and Jey) vs. Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango): Smackdown Tag Team Championship: Winner and STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos!

4) Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn: Winner is Sami Zayn!

5) Welcoming Committee (Tamina, Natalya and, Carmella w/ James Elsworth) vs. Naomi, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch: Winners are the Welcoming Committee!

6) Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles: United States Championship: Winner and STILL United States Champion: Kevin Owens!

7) Luke Harper vs.  Erick Rowan: Winner is Luke Harper!

8) Jinder Mahal (w/ Sunil and Samir Singh ) vs. Randy Orton: WWE Championship: Winner and NEW WWE Champion: Jinder Mahal!

Well then… time for my final thoughts. What a surprise at the end with Jinder Mahal winning the WWE Championship. Who saw that coming. Then again, Randy had to battle three men, but I digress.  The show as a whole was good. Lots of action, and good spots throughout the night. Makes me wonder what Raw will do at “Extreme Rules” in a couple of weeks. The sad thing about Raw is that there is no Brock Lesnar around to defend his championship, which sucks. I would think that if you have one you should defend it.  Getting back to tonight, all in all, it was a good night, a lot of upsets, and hopefully, the ball will keep rolling for Smackdown and it will get out of the shadow of its big “sister” in Raw.
