- Updated: May 12, 2021
Wednesday night, the NFL released the schedules for the 2021 season. Here is the Bears’:

A few takeaways:
Opening the season on Sunday Night Football in L.A. likely has more to do with the Rams than the Bears. It will be the first game with fans in the Rams’ new stadium and they have a new QB. Playing the team from the country’s #3 market is just an added bonus. Dalton is still QB1 this year. Settle down.
Catching the Bengals in week 2 is a big break. If Burrow is back for that game, he’s still going to be getting his legs back under him. (Yeah, I know, but I couldn’t think of another phrase to use.)
Both home games against the NFC West are at noon a.k.a. 10 A.M. Pacific. Love it.
The bye week coming before the Bears’ lone Thursday game of the year (Thanksgiving at Detroit) would have been nice, but as it is, it’s almost the exact middle of the season and comes after a Monday night game. Can’t complain too much about that. If we need those extra few days to beat Detroit this year, we’ve got bigger problems. The bye also comes at a great time for the Bears to hand the keys to Justin Fields if *if* they see fit. If. I said “if.” Settle down.
There are a lot of worse possible endings to the schedule than vs. MIN, at SEA, vs. NYG, at MIN.
