Welcome (Back) To Chicago: Christian Jones, Inside Linebacker

The Chicago Bears have turned to a familiar face to shore up their ILB depth. Christian Jones returns to Chicago after spending three years in Detroit. Jones was signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State in 2014 and played for the team from 2014-17. The former Seminole saw quality playing time three of those years and was generally solid when on the field. Jones signed with Detroit prior to the 2018 season and while he never produced as well as he did in the navy and orange, at the very least, he should provide quality depth in Chicago. While this signing may not seem like a big deal at face value, remember that Manti Te’o started the playoff game last year. Jones should at least be able to hold his own against Mike Burton (yes, that Mike Burton, the former Bear who routinely lost blocks or just missed them altogether), unlike a certain former Notre Dame defender with a fake dead girlfriend.
