Tuesday, the Chicago Bears made what should be one of the best value pickups of the off-season, as they signed EDGE Jeremiah Attaochu to a two-year deal to bolster their depth at the position after Barkevious Mingo signed in Atlanta. Attaochu figures to be an upgrade over Mingo, with the former second round pick recording 8.5 sacks in 25 games in mostly a backup role in Denver. In Chicago, he figures to be the #3 option at the position behind Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn. Details of Attaochu’s contract with the Bears were not available as of the writing of this post, but it’s likely a pretty cheap deal. While this may not be a huge splash, it does provide quality depth on the edge, especially with the Bears not sure about what they can expect from Quinn, and lets the Bears focus on other needs during the draft.
