Dear Mr. @CameronNewton, Rosemary @Plorin Was Right!

After reading her article she was right, your conduct was something that needs to be addressed. You ain’t DAB ON DEM FOLKS HARD ENOUGH. The chest puffs and arrogant struts were enough, but you gotta hit that dab a little bit harder next time playa. I mean look, you’re the most criticized player in the NFL and we aren’t going to act like it’s not because you’re a black quarterback. You’re having an MVP caliber season, and you’ve made a fan out of many non-believers this season. You are a role model in the truest sense. With your work with the Cam Newton Foundation, your many visits to children’s hospital and the time you spend putting your heart and soul into not only becoming the best athlete you can be, but the best person you can be. To so many people it’s awe inspiring.

In a time like today when many professional athletes are beating women, causing chaos, and Goodell knows what; you’ve been a model citizen on and off the field. You see, the majority of people in the United States (looking at you white people) hate to see an athlete celebrate in the end zone after leading their team to victory in dominating fashion. HEY RODGERS! DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHECK! They absolutely hate when you try to stand out in the crowd and draw attention to yourself after scoring a touchdown because “Barry Sanders didn’t do it”. You are one of the most overly criticized quarterbacks in the NFL for some reason, when people were trying to make Tim Tebow a thing, when coaches are starting Kirk Cousins over Bob Griffin, and when black quarterbacks don’t get the many opportunities for redemption that white quarterbacks receive.

You know what’s offensive to me? Having to watch my quarterback be trash and make $90 million doing so. It’s offensive that you have helped lead your team to a 9-0 start, and we’re having a discussion about how you puffed your chest up in the endzone. There’s is nothing more offensive this day and age then people who are offended by everything. I’m sure Rosemary and her daughter couldn’t hit a dab like you hit that dab, so it’s dabbing jealousy. The notion that she thought she could have a teachable moment after you danced in the endzone shows that her parenting skills are about as good as her ability to identify the dab dance.

It’s so easy for people to get caught up nowadays in everything that doesn’t matter to show their displeasure for something. Rosemary’s article on the Gronk Spike or the Discount Double Check didn’t garner attention, but because you show up every Sunday and do your job, you’re under fire. I’m sure in other teachable moments in life, Rosemary will be able to put things in perspective for little Rosemary Jr. on how athletes show emotion for a game that they love playing. You are a role model, and you deserve all the praise that you have received this far in your career because you have had a positive impact on millions of people’s lives. We can’t wait to see next week how much your dab has developed in a 7 day span. So “Keep Pounding” and in that tone, DAB ON THEM FOLKS!
