UA-59049186-1 NFL Roundup: March 18, 2020 - Good if it Goes

NFL Roundup: March 18, 2020

The two days of legal tampering brought us some huge moves and big names changing homes. NFL.com has a list of the moves made by each team. Here are the highlights.

Obviously, the biggest move made was QB Tom Brady agreeing to terms with the Buccaneers, as you may have seen on Twitter from various folks photoshopping him in a jersey he’ll never actually wear. The deal will pay him around $30 million per year. Reaction to the news on Twitter was split. Some folks thought this move makes the Bucs instant contenders with the future Hall of Famer teaming up with a great group of receivers. Others wondered how Brady, at 43, was going to fit in an offense set up to go deep down the field. Your author is in the latter group. Brady’s sill got plenty left, he’ll have plenty of weapons and solid coaching – they should be fine. I question their ability to make a deep postseason run, but the NFC South race just got a whole lot more interesting and if nothing else, Brady will take care of the ball a lot better than Jameis Winston did and mentor whoever the long-term guy in Tampa is going to be. Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissaro said on Twitter that the belief among teams was that Brady is looking to bring Antonio Brown with him wherever he goes, but Brown’s status with the league is still up in the air.

The Texans traded WR DeAndre Hopkins and a 2020 4th-round pick to Arizona for RB David Johnson, a 2020 2nd-round pick, and a 2021 4th-round pick. I have no idea why. The Texans then filled the hole at receiver by signing Randall Cobb to a 3-year, $27 million deal. I have no idea why.

QB Teddy Bridgewater agreed to terms with Carolina. The Panthers also traded OG Trai Turner to the Chargers for OT Russell Okung.

The Bears agreed to terms with EDGE Robert Quinn and TE Jimmy Graham.

The Ravens traded TE Hayden Hurst and a 2020 4th-round pick to Atlanta for a 2 and a 5 in 2020. The Ravens also acquired DI Calais Campbell from Jacksonville for a 5 in 2020. OG Marshal Yanda retired.

CB Josh Norman signed with the Bills. The Bills also acquired WR Stefon Diggs and a 2020 7 from the Vikings for 1st, 5th, and 6th-rounders in 2020 and a 4 in 2021.

The Browns agreed to terms with OT Jack Conklin, QB Case Keenum, and TE Austin Hooper.

WR Amari Cooper and LB Sean Lee are back with Dallas, who also agreed to terms with DI Gerald McCoy.

The 49ers traded DI DeForest Buckner to the Colts for the 13th overall pick.

The Colts agreed to terms with QB Philip Rivers.

The Packers agreed to terms with OT Rick Wagner.

The Raiders agreed to terms with ILBs Nick Kwiatkoski and Cory Littleton, S Jeff Heath, EDGE Carl Nassib, TE Jason Witten, and QB Marcus Mariota.

The Dolphins agreed to terms with EDGEs Shaq Lawson and Emmanual Ogbah, LB Kyle Van Noy, and CB Byron Jones. They also gave OL/human turnstile Ereck Flowers $10 million a year for some reason.

The Giants agreed to terms with CB James Bradberry and ILB Blake Martinez.

Washington agreed to terms with LBs Thomas Davis and Kevin Pierre-Louis and CB Kendall Fuller.
