Blackhawks 10, Penguins 1
- Updated: October 6, 2017
No, that headline’s not a typo. The Blackhawks really did clobber the defending champions. The Penguins were coing off a game against St. Louis last night and hat Antti Niemi in net to start this game. The Hawks put four past the team’s former netminder in the first and cut Niemi’s night short. The Hawks put six more on Matt Murray. Brandon Saad had a hat trick in his first regular season game back after doing likewise in his first pre-season game back. The Aces in 8s all had outstanding games. Patrick Sharp scored a goal of his own. Pittsburgh got one past Corey Crawford on the power play and that was it. All in all, this game couldn’t have gone better.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Ryan Hartman, LW, CHI (1 G, 4 A)
★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (1 G, 3 A)
★ Brandon Saad, LW, CHI (3 G (GWG))
