Blackhawks 5, Blue Jackets 1
- Updated: October 8, 2017
The Blackhawks returned to the ice Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets and turned in a very disappointing performance. They didn’t even score ten goals. What’s up with that?
In all seriousness, the team played another excellent game. The offense was all over the ice and the defense, which was my biggest concern going into the season was fantastic. Corey Crawford only let in one goal and it was kind of a fluky one at that. Alex DeBrincat was playing his second NHL game ever and again looked like a veteran, Brandon Saad once again made his presence felt, and Patrick Kane did Patrick Kane-type stuff. Don’t expect 82 games like this, but these 2 have been very encouraging.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★ Brandon Saad, LW, CHI (1 G (GWG), 1 A)
