Maple Leafs 4, Blackhawks 3 (OT)
- Updated: October 10, 2017
The Blackhawks played their third game in five nights to open the season without their second-line center, with their backup goalie, against the other team in the league lighting the lamp like they are, got out-shot more than 2-to-1, and left with a point. Could be worse. Jan Rutta scored in his second consecutive game. The top line continued to perform like a top line should. Anton Forsberg had a solid outing – Bowman may have found himself a nice player. The Hawks return to the ice Tuesday in Montreal.
