The Hawks got off to a slow start, but then mostly controlled the action in the second. They were sluggish again in the third, though having to kill off two penalties early in the period certainly didn’t help the offense. The Hawks were getting their share of shots, it was just that nothing was going in. Then Getzlaf took a really stupid penalty late and one went in on the power play. Then another one went in after the Hawks pulled Crawford, and the next thing you know, it’s overtime. Then the Hawks mostly controlled that and Anisimov won it. Not a great job late by a team who would be out of the playoffs if the season ended today.
On the defensive side for the Hawks, TvR had a rough game. Daley was pretty good on offense and solid on defense. The second goal Crawford let in wasn’t great, but it was on a 2-on-0, so I’m not too upset with him over it.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Andrew Cogliano, LW, ANA (1 G)
★★ Duncan Keith, D, CHI (1 G (GTG), 1 A)
★ Brent Seabrook, D, CHI (3 G)
