With the way the last couple games went, I wasn’t expecting such a good performance coming off the Vegas trip. The Hawks controlled the action for a good while early on and limited opportunities for the Sharks. Kane extended his point streak on a great pass to Seabrook, who then rifled a shot past Jones. Burns tied the game on the power play later in the period. Not too long after, Garbutt sprung Toews, who beat Jones to re-take the lead and the Hawks never relinquished it. Keith expanded the lead in the second on a shot that it looked like Jones never saw because he was screened by his own man. Marleau cut the lead to one a little past midway in the third, but a little over a minute later, Desjardins put the lead back at two, and then Shaw would add an empty-netter towards the end. Crawford was better, though the Hawks did a good job of preventing too many really good looks for the Sharks. Neither goal he allowed really seemed like his fault.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (2 A)
★★ Brent Burns, D, SJS (1 G, 1 A)
★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 G)
