Great Scott! (And Patrick, too.) – Your Weekly Blackhawks Recap
- Updated: November 25, 2015
(Week of 11/15 – 11/21)
The Hawks went 2-1-1 on the week, beating the Flames at home and Oilers on the road in overtime, then losing in overtime at Calgary and in regulation at Vancouver.
Notes
Forwards: Kane’s point streak is still going on. Right now, it’s second in Blackhawks history. Anisimov and Panarin continued to play well, too. Q mixed up the other lines later in the week with Teräväinen out. Hossa seemed to be a little better at 3RW. Garbutt played well on the top line with Toews. Dano has been struggling a bit. You’ve got to let guys in his position play through slumps, though.
Defensemen: Pierre LeBrun wrote an article for ESPN suggesting Trevor Daley could be traded. If you can get something you need more, that seems like a good idea. Gustafsson played well enough to merit a spot in the lineup. Svedberg has been at least good enough to play when Rozsival needs a night off.
Goalies: I am out of patience with Corey Crawford. He was great until he wasn’t against Edmonton, then turned in an absolute stinker in Vancouver. This is far from the first stinker he’s turned in this year. Scott Darling was excellent in both games against Calgary. In the latter, he took the loss because the team could only muster up one goal against a team that allows a bunch of them.
Blackhawks 3 stars of the week:
★★★ Artemi Panarin, LW (2 G, 2 A)
★★ Scott Darling, G (.946 SV%, 1.48 GAA)
★ Patrick Kane, RW (1 G, 5 A)
