Another lackluster effort by the Hawks in this one and this time they weren’t playing the Oilers, so lackluster didn’t cut it. Darling was excellent and was the only reason the Hawks even got the game to overtime. Everyone else was bad and should feel bad. The Hawks had trouble getting out of their own zone and when they did, they couldn’t get shots on net and ended up getting outshot nearly 2-1. I honestly can’t think of anything anyone did particularly well. The fact that they came out of this debacle with even a point is 100% on Darling.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Sean Monahan, C, CGY (1 G)
★★ Johnny Gaudreau, LW, CGY (1 G (GWG), 1 A)
★ Scott Darling, G, CHI (35 SV, 2 GA)
