Blackhawks 3, Panthers 2 (OT)
- Updated: December 13, 2017
The Blackhawks took another step forward Tuesday and came away with another win, though they’re still not on their game for the entire 60 minutes. Last night, one of those lulls came in the second period, where they got out-shot 17-5. The Panthers got the better of the action for a good chunk of the third, too, after taking the lead just under four minutes into the period. The Hawks were able to tie the game just over ten minutes later on a Jonathan Toews goal set up by Brandon Saad and after that, the team looked energized. Sixty minutes would not be enough to decide this one. Overtime went back-an-forth. The Panthers had a sequence that very nearly resulted in a goal; Corey Crawford needed to make a few big saves to keep the game going. Ultimately, Patrick Kane got a breakaway after Artem Anisimov took the puck from the Panthers and Kane beat James Reimer for the game-winner.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (1 G (GWG))
★ Brandon Saad, LW, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
