After blowing a 3-goal lead in the last meeting with the Blues, this was a nice win. It was also very nice getting a road win, which the Hawks had not since October 9. Keith made his return to the lineup tonight and his presence was felt at both ends. Rozsival was back on the ice as well – at this point, I’m not sure he’s that much better than Gustafsson. Ryan Garbutt was back after missing a couple games due to illness and had a solid game. Crawford coughed up a rebound that led to a goal for Tarasenko, but other than that, he was very good. He had to be in the third, especially, where the Blues dominated the action and kept the Hawks from getting a shot on net for over fifteen minutes, but the Hawks defense was able to keep the puck out of the net.

Dano was at 1LW tonight. Like I said after the last game, I’d put Turbo there. But if Q wants to put Dano in that spot, that’s fine, too. But leave him there for a while now. Even if you drop a couple games. Leave him there. I feel like part of Toews and Hossa’s less-than-magnificent campaigns have to do with playing with some different every night. Leave the kid there and led the line gel. The Shake An Bake line hasn’t been this good just because everyone is playing well. Everyone is playing well, and that’s definitely a factor, but another big factor here is how well Panarin, Anisimov, and Kane’s games all complement each others’ so well.

My picks for 3 stars:

★★★ Trevor van Riemsdyk, D, CHI (1 G)

★★ Vladimir Tarasenko, RW, STL (2 G)

★ Duncan Keith, D, CHI (1 A)
