This was a great all-around performance by the Hawks. All four lines were productive. The defense was solid. Crawford was excellent. Q called it a goalie win after the game and he was right. It only wasn’t a shutout because a defensive biff led to a tap-in for Nashville. Turbo had a great game, recording a goal and an assist. The assist came on a perfect pass to Shaw on the power play, then the goal came on the first rush of the third period, where he baited the defense with his eyes and looked to be looking to pass, then went Thin Mints on Rinne. There’s your 1LW, Q. Kane extended his point streak on an empty-netter late in the third. Look, I’ve enjoyed watching him on this run as much as the next guy, but we need to keep our eyes on the main goal here, and that’s winning games. The shot he took to extend the streak was not smart and honestly, selfish. It’s only a two-goal lead and there was plenty of time left, you don’t shoot that puck short of center. It went in, so it was okay this time, but seriously, Kaner, don’t do that again.

My picks for 3 stars:

★★★ Andrew Shaw, F, CHI (1 G (GWG), 1 A)

★★ Teuvo Teräväinen, F, CHI (1 G, 1 A)

★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (36 SV, 1 GA)
