The Blackhawks are now locked into the 3-seed in the playoffs after a disappointing loss in which they outplayed the Blues for most of the game, but a couple defensive breakdowns led to the two goals necessary for the Blues to win. The Hawks got some good chances, but Brian Elliot had a great game in net for St. Louis. Toews and Panik in particular were very good. The team was good defensively for most of the game and Darling had an outstanding outing. Crawford will be back for Saturday’s game in Columbus. I’m not sure how many key players Q will play in that one, since it really doesn’t matter for anything. On the one hand, the rest couldn’t hurt for some of these guys. On the other, you might want to put a decent group in front of Crawford for his first game in weeks.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Scott Darling, G, CHI (33 SV, 2 GA)
★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 G)
★ Vladimir Tarasenko, RW, STL (2 G (GTG, GWG))
