Bruins 7, Blackhawks 4
- Updated: March 10, 2018
The Blackhawks got off to a rough start, yielding the game’s first two goals, but seventeen seconds after David Krejci scored the second Boston goal, Jonathan Toews cut the lead in half. Thirty-one seconds later, Erik Gustafsson tied the game. The Hawks got another two in the second from John Hayden and Matthew Highmore – the first of his career. The Bruins got one of their own – David Krejci’s second of the game. The third period was a total disaster for the Hawks. The Bruins put four pucks in the Hawks’ net. Two were on the power play after the Hawks had already yielded a pair of power play goals in the first 40 minutes. The last one was an empty netter. If the Hawks could have stayed out of the box, they may have gotten this one, but too many penalties undid them. They’ll try again at home tomorrow.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Erik Gustafsson, D, CHI (1 G, 2 A)
★★ David Krejci, C, BOS (2 G)
★ Jake DeBrusk, LW, BOS (3 A)
