Canadiens 2, Blackhawks 0
- Updated: November 5, 2017
The Blackhawks played two very good periods. Unfortunately, the game had a third period and suffice it to say, the Hawks’ performance in that period was nowhere near as good as it was in the previous two. A couple defensive screw-ups lead to a couple Montreal goals and the Hawks were unable to get any of their own. They played good hockey the last couple nights, but the goals just aren’t coming. But the play is good at least, unlike their recent slump where they were playing poorly and also not scoring. The goals should come eventually. My only gripe is that the team seems to have a propensity to wait for the “perfect” shot instead of just getting shots on net. Looking for a good look is fine, but being too picky means making extra passes and that’s where we’ve seen the team get into trouble, especially when they look to make some trickier passes.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Joe Morrow, D, MTL (1 G, 1 A)
★★ Jonathan Drouin, LW, MTL (1 G (GWG))
★ Charlie Lindgren, G, MTL (38 SV, SO)
